No cookies?

I don't know if you noticed, but there was no cookie popup on here.

When re-launching my site, I was inspired by this whole retro digital garden movement that is literally going back to the roots. Publishing more content without overthinking it.

Those who know me are aware that I'm addicted to data, but I also obsess over user experience. I was therefore a bit torn regarding if I should track this site to pieces or just go back to the good old days where you create content for the sake of creating it. Not for optimizing engagement and SEO.

So here we are. Bare naked without any cookies. I have no idea who you are, where you came from, or how long you stay. I just hope that you revel in the experience of not having to close a cookie dialog to read my content.

We'll see how long it lasts :p

... this long.

After posting this and sharing on twitter, Viðar brought up Fathom, the privacy focused, no cookie analytics solution. I've looked at it a couple of times but never given it a run for it's money. So who knows, perhaps I will know how many people read this post, but still respect your privacy and keep my site clean from cookies.

This update also makes this the first patch of content that adheres to the digital garden idea of posts that grow.
